Aufgaben

In dieser anspruchsvollen und vielfältigen Funktion arbeiten Sie aktiv mit den anderen Mitgliedern der Geschäftsleitung an der Erreichung unserer strategischen Ziele und der kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung unserer Arbeitsprozesse mit. Gemeinsam mit der Geschäftsleitung tragen Sie die Gesamtverantwortung für die Finanzstrategie und –planung von Mission 21. Daneben sind Sie zuständig für die Erarbeitung und Umsetzung der IT-Strategie und arbeiten dazu mit einem externen IT-Dienstleister zusammen.

Sie verantworten den Budgetprozess sowie das Reporting und Controlling, sind zuständig für die Erstellung der Monats-, Quartals und Jahresabschlüsse nach Swiss GAAP FER 21 sowie der Kostenträgerrechnung gemäss ZEWO. Ebenfalls gehören das Cash- und Anlagenmanagement zu Ihren Aufgaben. Sie stehen mit allen unseren Organisations-einheiten in stetem Austausch, unterstützen diese bei Finanzfragen und Finanzierungsplanungen und definieren notwendige Vorgaben. Ihre Aufgaben bei den anstehenden Change-Management-Prozessen im Finanz- und IT-Bereich sind von grosser Bedeutung, um Mission 21 zukunftsfähig weiterzuentwickeln.

Our research combines scientific rigor with practical relevance, and we are keen to feed our findings into respective academic, policy, and practice discussions.  We are looking for a:    Senior Program Officer/ Senior Researcher – Resources & Conflict (80 – 100 %)    Starting date: 01 July 2024 (or by agreement)   swisspeace has recently consolidated two programs into a new Resources & Conflict (R&C) program that aims to contribute to a better understanding of and respond to the conflict risks and peacebuilding opportunities associated with climate change and climate policies, with a focus on formal and informal governance of natural resources in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. We are looking for an experienced Senior Program Officer and/or Senior Researcher interested in strengthening and expanding this new program. This role offers the opportunity to shape swisspeace's work in this area going forward and to respond to the needs of different types of partners who are working towards ensuring climate-related projects are developed and implemented in a socially responsible and conflict-sensitive manner. Ideally, we are looking for a self-starter who is keen to contribute to strategic and conceptual thinking and hands-on implementation. Registered as a Swiss foundation with headquarters in Basel, the Institute works globally and maintains field operations around the world. The Basel Institute is an Associated Institute of the University of Basel.   [[1]](#_ftnref1) The appointment may be made at the level of Programme Manager or Senior Programme Manager based on qualifications and professional experience of the selected applicant. Profile The (Senior) Programme Manager will have a cross-divisional programme management remit covering the programme management of: a)    designated asset recovery programmes (50%); b)    the Basel Institute's Ukraine programme (30–35%); and c)     designated research and public governance programmes (15–20%).   The post holder will report directly to the Heads or designated senior staff of the respective teams.
