The intern will contribute to the Major Change Initiative (MCI) focused on the AI project. The MCI AI project aims to drive innovation and operational efficiency through the strategic application of artificial intelligence technologies, as complementary programs alongside the current IT portfolio and operations, employing a programmatic strategy. The project emphasizes a business-oriented approach, driven by AI inspiration, which will pivot innovation through the AI Opportunity Map, supported by strategic elements such as AI and Innovation Inspiration, as well as initiatives in Incubation, Partnerships, Adoption, Knowledge Management, and AI and Innovation Technology Capability.
Responsibilities:
- AI Use Cases: Interns will assist in analyzing use cases discovered from AI projects and provide reports that highlight trends, patterns, and potential business impacts.
- AI Opportunity Map: Interns will assist in maintaining and updating the AI Opportunity Map, ensuring that it reflects the latest innovations and opportunities identified during the internship.
- Project Documentation: Interns will be responsible for creating comprehensive documentation outlining the processes, methodologies, and findings and recommendation related to the MCI AI.
- Presentation of Findings: At the end of the internship, interns will present their findings and contributions to the team, showcasing the value added to the MCI AI project.
- Collaboration and Support: Interns will work closely with team members to support various tasks and initiatives, contributing to a collaborative environment.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Masters/MBA or PhD program, preferably specialized in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential to derive insights from data and contribute to project outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture (EA) framework that supports AIIB's strategic priorities, digital-first vision, and technology roadmap.

Responsibilities:
- Advise on the preparation of environmental and social assessments and implementation of environmental and social management plans and other types of instruments.
- Advise on strategic, sectoral, regional, and cumulative impact assessments for selected operations.
- Review and validate environmental/social risks, impacts, and mitigations identified by the investment teams on selected complex projects covering nonsovereign-backed financings, especially FI projects, against the requirements of AIIB's ESP.
- Develop and monitor courses of action to resolve issues concerning Bank and client compliance with the environmental requirements of AIIB's ESP.
- Support AIIB's knowledge base on environmental and social aspects through training and capacity training of AIIB staff.

Requirements:
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience working in a multilateral development bank (MDB), bilateral development organization, or private-sector organization.
- Master's degree or equivalent in environmental science, engineering, social studies, planning, law, or related fields from a reputable university.
- Experience in the development and implementation of environmental/social strategies, policies, and procedures, especially those used by MDBs for FI projects.
- Experience working on policy interpretation and application and communicating such policies to a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including senior management, boards of directors, and civil society organizations.
- Knowledge of project development and supervision, including project design and feasibility studies.
- Professional expertise in the planning and management of environmental/social aspects of infrastructure programs and projects in sectors such as energy, transport, water, urban development, and digital infrastructure.
- Experience in the planning, preparation, and implementation of project-level environmental and social assessment and related types of studies, including environmental and social management plans and frameworks.
- Willingness to make site visits.

The Information Technology Department (ITD) is looking for a Digital Program Associate – Data Analysis, who will contribute to the design and development of AIIB's data ecosystem by providing value-added data analysis to harness data insights. The Digital Program Associate – Data Analysis will be responsible for gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data requirements using techniques from various disciplines, including business analysis, data analysis, computer programming, mathematics, and statistics. The role also entails communicating with the technical team and business counterparties.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business stakeholders, understand business data processes, gather and streamline data requirements, and maintain relevant documentation.
- Perform domain-specific data analysis, research and retain data knowledge from Project and Loan business system, translate data requirements to technical specifications, and collaborate with the project manager and implementation team to support the design and delivery of solutions that meet business requirements, including but not limited to data solutions, business intelligence solutions, and self-service solutions.
- Lead Project and Loan data-solution testing, assist with troubleshooting, guide users with new data products and services, and facilitate user training and focus group discussions.
- Perform root cause analysis on Project and Loan data-quality issues and reporting processes in support of data solution operations.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities, and proactively identify new opportunities and potential gaps for solution optimization.
- Support data culture awareness training and sharing.
Requirements:
- More than five years of working experience as a data associate and/or business analyst or relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, financial analysis, statistics, and research methods.
- Master's degree from a reputable university in a relevant field, such as business analysis, data analysis, computer science, information management, or financial engineering, or equivalent experience. In lieu of a master's degree, a bachelor's degree in these fields from a reputable university, along with relevant certifications and experience.
- Familiarity with machine-learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn). Experience in designing machine-learning and artificial-intelligence applications to effectively optimize business processes and support better decision-making would be an advantage.
- Strong technical capability in MS SQL and familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools, such as PowerBI and Python.
- Working knowledge in Project and Loan products is a must. Lending, portfolio management, and cooperative reporting is a plus.
- A team player with the ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with business partners and communicate effectively with both business and technology data stakeholders.
- Self motivated, adaptive to evolving business models, and able to drive results and support business technical requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing deliverables in agile environments would be an advantage.

(Senior) Budget Officer

AIIB's Strategy, Policy and Budget (SPB) Department is responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of the Bank's strategic agenda; developing and overseeing compliance with the Bank's operational policies and procedures for the Bank's investment operations (non-treasury), including environmental, social, procurement and financial management; and developing and monitoring the Bank's Business Plan and Budget to implement the Bank's Corporate Strategy and manage the Bank's administrative budget to support the implementation of the business plan and ensure judicious use of resources.
SPB is hiring a (Senior) Budget Officer who will work closely with other team members in assisting Management to strategically plan and manage AIIB's budgetary resources to support the implementation of AIIB's Corporate Strategy and business priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Support the full budget cycle, including annual planning, execution monitoring, adjustments and reallocations, reporting, and control of administrative and capital budgets; support senior management and Board discussions; and partner with Business Units.
- Lead or contribute to improvements in strategic resource allocation by developing planning concepts, mechanisms, incentives, and metrics to enhance the Bank's operational efficiency and effectiveness; strengthen existing budgeting frameworks; and support strategic discussions on the Bank's staffing plans, global/local presence, and multiyear budget planning.
- Deliver specialized budget tasks or drive topical discussions on the Bank's resource management, such as major expenditure reviews, resourcing models, policy/procedure updates, productivity and benchmarking analysis, and knowledge management and capacity building, including identifying best practices and opportunities for resource optimization from peer analysis or benchmarking.
- Drive enhancements in budget controls and management reporting through collaboration on process improvements and system optimization (including SAP SAC, SAP S4HANA, and related platforms across planning, execution, and reporting).
- Represent the budget team in corporate projects aimed at advancing cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice on budget matters, and respond to ad-hoc requests from stakeholders, including senior management, across the organization.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or equivalent in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, or related fields from a recognized university. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA) are a plus.
- Minimum five years of experience for the Officer role and 10 years for the Senior Officer role, with a proven track record in budgeting, financial and strategic planning, cost and financial accounting, and working with financial systems in international financial institutions / multilateral development banks, private-sector financial services industry, consulting firms serving financial institutions, or a complex multinational company.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis and budget management and their connection to operations, financial results, and business planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience preparing materials for senior management and high-level discussions.
- Collaborative team player, showing initiative and a mindset for continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
