AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service organization of the German Catholic community for international development cooperation. Through the Civil Peace Service (CPS), AGIAMONDO offers professionals the opportunity to engage in meaningful service in partnership with local development actors.
The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions around the world. In South Sudan, CPS has supported civil society organizations for many years in developing non-violent approaches to conflict resolution, strengthening human rights, and assisting communities affected by trauma.
The work of the CPS is founded on partnership, trust, and long-term commitment. Professionals contribute their expertise, learn from local experiences, and help strengthen structures that promote peaceful coexistence.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a church-based media network headquartered in Juba and affiliated with the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Sudan and South Sudan. The network's community radio stations broadcast in numerous local languages and reach people, particularly in rural areas, who often have limited access to other sources of information.
The network is committed to independent journalism, transparent reporting, and the promotion of dialogue and peace. It views media work as an important contribution to social development.

Your tasks
- You analyze together with the radio editorial teams existing needs in journalistic work and editorial processes.
- You develop practical formats to strengthen peacebuilding- and conflict-sensitive reporting.
- You support journalists and editorial teams in their day-to-day work and foster their professional development.
- You assist radio stations in developing and applying editorial standards and ensuring balanced reporting.
- You strengthen collaboration within the radio network and promote exchange between the individual stations.
- You establish and maintain contacts with national and international partner organizations in the fields of media and peacebuilding.
- You support radio stations in developing content on peace promotion, conflict transformation, and trauma awareness.
- You contribute to the organizational development of the network and facilitate related processes.
- You are responsible for the proper disbursement and management of local project funds in accordance with donor regulations and AGIAMONDO guidelines. In doing so, you work in close partnership with colleagues from the partner organization.
Your profile
- You hold a university degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication Sciences, or a related field.
- You have several years of practical experience in journalism or media work, ideally in an international or development-related context.
- You have experience working in conflict-affected or sensitive environments and possess a strong understanding of peacebuilding and conflict dynamics.
- You work in a structured and independent manner while collaborating effectively with a wide range of partners.
- You have excellent communication skills and can convey information clearly and appropriately to different target audiences.
- You demonstrate strong intercultural competence and the ability to work respectfully and sensitively in a diverse environment.
- Ideally, you have already gained initial experience in South Sudan or in comparable contexts.
- You hold a valid driver's license and have excellent English language skills; additional language skills are an asset.
- You are a citizen of an EU member state or Switzerland and identify with the goals and values of church-based development cooperation and peacebuilding initiatives.
Your duty station will be Juba, the capital of South Sudan. From there, you will undertake regular travel to partner radio stations throughout the country.
The security situation remains challenging and may change rapidly. Travel is undertaken according to the prevailing situation and in close coordination with local partners.
Juba offers basic infrastructure, secure housing options, shopping facilities, and medical services provided by private healthcare institutions. The climate is tropical, with distinct rainy and dry seasons.
This position is not suitable for families with children.
