Skat Consulting Ltd. is a leading Swiss consultancy specialising in international cooperation in the water, building, energy and governance sectors. Since 2008, it has been implementing donor-funded projects in Moldova, drawing on its expertise in local governance & municipal services to address the negative impacts on public services caused by the high degree of local government fragmentation.

About the programme
Since 2019, Skat has been implementing the Ma Implic project on civic engagement in local governance, financed by SDC. The project aims to strengthen local self-government by supporting local communities to improve communal services.
Description of duties
Support Skat Consulting to adopt and integrate new and innovative digital technologies and tools for knowledge management (knowledge sharing, knowledge documentation, knowledge application, and knowledge creation). This position aims to connect digital technology with the needs of the development aid work. It helps to draw on information and communication technologies to ensure, in times of COVID, a planning cycle for implementing field projects (planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring, lessons learnt). Thanks to the work of the digital transformer in knowledge management, the Ma Implic project in Moldova, in particular, and Skat Consulting in general will benefit from increased collaboration, learning and visualization. The main activities are:
Innovation is at the very core of this position. The digital transformer researches innovative digital technologies and tools to support the project work in Moldova and within Skat Consulting. It also supports the integration of innovative practices in the development aid domain, which has yet to realize the full potential of digital innovations. The work stages of this position also reflect the innovation lifecycle: research, incubation, acceleration and scaling-up.
About the SDG Youth Programme
The SDG Youth Programme was designed by the Mercator Foundation Switzerland, together with cinfo. It aims to offer students and aspiring professionals the opportunity to gain initial exposure and work experience with an NGO or social enterprise active in international cooperation (IC).
Selected candidates are allowed to work on new topics and innovative projects for one year, both at headquarters in Switzerland and in an office abroad (or with a partner organisation of the host organisation). While doing so, the young professionals can explore their motivation to follow a career path that allows them to contribute to the SDGs. At the same time, they can transfer the knowledge and competencies acquired to the Swiss labour market. Emphasis is placed on the career development of the successful applicants.
