Job description

UNDP supports countries in designing and implementing national policies for sustainable human development. UNDP focuses on global development to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Today, it supports countries with solutions in three main areas: sustainable development, democratic governance and peacebuilding, climate and disaster resilience.

In Moldova, UNDP has three major focus areas: Inclusive Growth, Effective Governance, and Climate Change, Environment & Energy and a cross-cutting area of policy work and innovation for SDGs.

UNDP Moldova as an outstanding experience in working at local level with municipalities and private sector. Such experience is relevant in the crisis period to support local counterparts to respond to the crisis, but also to rebuild better and greener. Moreover, collaborative work with municipalities, private sector and citizens around emerging or new opportunities in the post-COVID-19 period is both promising and would further position UNDP and its partners as a development actor of choice for the Governments and people of Moldova.

Your tasks and responsibilities as Research Associate private sector engagement and new partnerships for SDGs:

  • Provide support in collection, structuring and use of new evidence to underpin early response and recovery work by UNDP in the post-COVID-19 crisis period;
  • Support UNDP to develop quick policy notes and position paper on key problem spaces and elevation topics related to early response and recovery;
  • contribute to the dialogue with private sector on the new and emerging opportunities in the post-COVID-19 era, including as part of the Digital Impact initiative of UNDP;
  • Develop a portfolio of options to re-connetc and further expand collaboration with corporate citizens;
  • Support in defining and building new portfolios of options.

 

Part of the UN Youth Volunteers Programme, this position is sponsored by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). To ensure one can fully immerse in these assignments, all travel, relocation, life and health insurance costs are covered by the programme and a monthly living allowance is paid.
