Job description

The SRC has been working with the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS), the Ghana Health Service (GHS), and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) supporting emergency interventions as well as longer-term transitional and development projects in different geographical and thematic areas since 1983. SRC has supported GRCS,GHS and NADMO in the implementation of Eye Health, Mother New Born Child Adolescent Health, Disaster Risk Reduction and Institutional Preparedness, Water Sanitation and Hygiene projects and through emergency interventions.

 

For the implementation of the current programme 2021-2024 in Ghana we are looking for a Country Coordinator to be based in Accra, Ghana, with regular travel to project areas in the northern Regions of the country.

 

What you will be doing

  • Oversee the implementation of the SRC country programme implemented through the partners
  • Facilitate professional and timely planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the overall programme
  • Support the organizational development process of GRCS in line with the GRCS Strategic Plan and SRC strategic direction.
  • Ensure transparent financial management of the programme, including budget control, financial reporting and facilitation of internal controls and audits
  • Manage and administer the SRC office and the SRC national staff at GRCS/SRC joint Head Quarters in Accra and in the branches
  • Facilitate stakeholder management and promote ownership and sustainability of program and partners

Your profile

  • Expertise in development cooperation with specialisation in Public/Community Health and/or Environment; and Management and/or related technical fields (Disaster Mgmt, Mother Child Health, Eye Health, WASH)
  • Minimum of 5 years international working experience as coordinator
  • Experience in providing training/coaching/stakeholder management/capacity-building/organizational development to implementing partners
  • Demonstrated skills in financial administration and management
  • Experience with legal issues regarding partnership agreements and policies
  • Experience in working with the National Societies and with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Demonstrated experience in capacity building and organisational development is an asset
  • Ability to network, coordinate and cooperate with partners, staff, government authorities, local communities and other NGOs and build strong mutual relationships
  • Demonstrated working experience in sub-Saharan Africa
  • Very good command of written and spoken English (working language).
