Role & Responsibilities

The Finance Partner collaborates with country programmes and GSO to prepare, monitor and provide key financial information to stakeholders while advising, analysing, forecasting, support and train in funding management to inform decision makings, promoting best financial practices and to mitigate financial risks.

Project Overview

Medair Global Support Office (GSO) provides operational guidance for country programmes, along with both technical and compassionate support for our relief workers. Within the GSO and affiliate offices, we are also responsible for promoting the work of Medair to the world, to raise and manage the funds needed to run our life-saving and sustaining programmes, and to recruit international and GSO staff. The Medair GSO Finance Department, is primarily focussed on Medair financial and investment decisions, acts as a financial gatekeeper and strategic advisor in daily business operation and also mid to long-term strategic decisions of Medair, with streamlined and optimized key processes, via leveraging a fit-for-purpose system. Key Activity Areas

Grant and Private Funding (PF) management

  • Prepare (PF) private funding, and donor budgets.
  • Provide guidance, standardisation and content for budget narrative, budget proposal and budget monitoring. Clearly understand & communicate donor requirements.
  • Monitoring and analysing overall budgets (including revisions), using financial data to create and update fund matrix, prepare GSO donor cash requests, update Grant Management Tool and monitor PF consumption.
  • Prepare Donor reports. Posting reclass after report preparation.
  • Provide inputs to Audit Support Team when requested and apply audit lessons learned.

Country funding strategy and management

  • Conduct monthly (or quarterly) review meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Update country budget forecast. Monitor country PF need overview.
  • Build strong relationship with & provide financial support to International Programmes decision making.
  • Provide advice to HCP (Head of Country Program) and country team about funding situation and strategy.
  • Consolidate annual budgets for country programs. Prepare country PF need overview.

Coordination and Improvements

  • Provide guidance and strengthen knowledge on donor financial guidelines to key stakeholders.
  • Train, coach and empower Finance Managers in the country programmes to improve best practices.
  • Ensure communication flows between all relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate to Country Team Meetings (overview of funding/spending status and future projection).
  • Share regular Finance team meetings; Develop and implement reviews while responding to KPIs.
  • Innovate and improve Finance processes to drive efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Support implementation of a new ERP system, automation and infrastructure
  • Lead or participate in projects to improve Finance performance.

Qualifications

  • University and/or Bachelor degree in related subject.
  • Certificate in business administration and or accounting/book keeping or other relevant qualification.
  • Excellent working knowledge of English (speaking and writing). Working knowledge of French is highly desirable.

Experience / Competencies

  • 5-year experience working in the finance department of an NGO.
  • Strong skills and experience in data analysis, financial reporting and presentations.
  • Deep knowledge of BHA/USAID donor guidelines and NICRA compliance.
  • Experience of indirect cost recovery with various institutional donors.
  • Computer literate with very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software. Experience in working with fund accounting software would be a plus. Problem solving ability and improvement driving skills.

The attacks and insecurity have displaced millions of people, devastated agricultural production and other livelihoods, cut off essential services, and caused a crisis of protection. In 2022, some 8.4 million people of the BAY states will need humanitarian aid. Of these, 2.2 million are internally displaced; 1.5 million are returnees who lack essential services and livelihoods; and 3.9 million are members of communities affected by their hosting of IDPs. About 730 000 people are located in areas inaccessible to international humanitarian actors. Although some retain or have developed a degree of coping mechanisms, most rely at least in part on humanitarian aid. Tdh has first been established in Abeokuta, in 2008, and implemented development programmes, such as Migration programs. Activities in the South of Nigeria have been closed in 2019. In order to respond to the Lake Chad Basin Crisis, Tdh has established a country office since mid-2017, in Maiduguri, Borno State. Tdh contributes to the crisis' response by providing child protection services, education in emergencies, wash and nutrition assistance to most vulnerable children and their families. Digital Transformation – Intl Programs Lead

Role & Responsibilities Provide input for the International Programmes Department (IP) to the development of new digital systems to improve finances, budgeting, reporting, resource planning and supply chain management. This includes collecting input from staff based at GSO and also from all country programmes. This position is the key link between the Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) project team and a stakeholder in the Supply Chain Management (SCM) project for IP staff ensuring that IP perspective is included during the development and implementation of the critical new systems. The scope of the FP&A project includes budgeting, budget allocation to donors, planning & forecasting, reports (donor & internal) as well as analysis. The scope of the SCM project includes procurement, warehousing and fleet/equipment.   Project Overview The International Programmes Department is specifically responsible for the timely delivery and high quality of Medair's humanitarian services in the field. Full-time open-ended contract.   Key Activity Areas Procurement - Responsible for managing assigned procurement including Global Emergency Response Team goods and services. - Responsible for data entry and tracking procurement requests ensuring procurement of the right product, at the right time, to the right location, at the right prices using the right procedures in compliance with Medair and donor guidelines - Advise and support customers in planning, organising and monitoring their procurement. - Liaise with suppliers; maintain and build supplier relations, process invoices and administrative paperwork archiving to ensure on time payment. - Monitor actual procurement against conditions agreed in long term contracts and framework agreements and ensure contract, supplier and procurement records are kept up-to-date. - Act as Medair shipment officer for the own procured goods or services; make sure shipments are organized in time and according to the right procedures, considering international, national and customs regulations; follow up shipments and communicate schedules with consignees. Global Emergency Response (G-ERT) procurement/stock control - Responsible for the GERT kits procurements, stock availability and replenishment so that they are fully equipped & deployable all year round, if needed. - Properly follow up on all administrative steps related to the above. Other - Support and assist the general work and administration of the Logistics team. - Cover for other Logistics team members when absent or re-assigned to support emergency response Innovation/continuous improvement - Proactivity towards continuous improvement and simplification, more efficiency and saving opportunities · - Support the BPEs Focal Points within Medair; ensuring policies and procedures are up-to date and serve as reference point for questions, information and training. Afin de compléter l'équipe de coordination d'Eirene Suisse, nous recherchons un·e stagiaire francophone avec d'excellentes connaissances de l'espagnol, pour accompagner les activités de communication, recherche de fonds et coordination.   Activités et tâches : Communication : Rédaction, création de contenu, mise en page et impression de divers supports de communication ; Appui à la rédaction et la diffusion de notre journal trimestriel Point d' ?; Gestion des réseaux sociaux (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter) ; Mise à jour de notre site internet ; Rédaction et diffusion de notre Newsletter bimensuelle « Eirenews » ; Appui à l'organisation et participation à nos divers évènements de sensibilisation (tables-rondes, FILMAR, Marché de Noël, etc) ;   Recherche de fonds : Recherche de nouveaux donateurs, aide à la préparation et envoi des dossiers ; Enregistrement des dons dans notre base de données et mise à jour de celle-ci.   Gestion de projets : Participation aux séances de comité (env. 1 soir par mois), et assurer diverses tâches selon les besoins Appui à la rédaction de documents liés aux projets (demandes, rapports).
