The Catholic partner organisation CDJP Garoua is meeting these challenges with a peace-building approach that focuses on awareness-raising, education and dialogue. The Catholic partner organization CDJP Garoua (Commission for Justice and Peace) is part of the social pastoral service of the Archdiocese of Garoua. In a region marked by internal displacement, resource conflicts, and social tensions, CDJP promotes peacebuilding, access to rights, and social cohesion through awareness, education, and dialogue. As a professional in the Civil Peace Service (ZFD), you will support this approach through conflict-sensitive project work, educational formats, and systematic documentation of long-standing experiences. CDJP Douala has been active for many years in peace education, psychosocial support and legal counselling. You will work closely with target groups, with colleagues and volunteers of the commission, and with staff of the Catholic radio station.Douala is a major city in southern Cameroon and the country's economic centre. The city offers basic infrastructure, sufficient housing options, international schools (French, American, bilingual) and medical facilities. The climate is tropical, with a rainy season from May to October and a dry season from November to April. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. In Timor Leste the partner organisation Casa de Produção Audiovisual (CPA) has been active for over 20 years. What began as traditional journalism training has developed into youth-oriented media work with a focus on social media, podcasts and internet TV. CPA promotes social cohesion in a country that has been shaped by colonialism and occupation. Young people learn to resolve conflicts non-violently through peace education content. At the same time, CPA gives disadvantaged groups a voice and develops solutions to social challenges. As a specialist, you will support CPA in further developing its media offerings in a targeted manner and, in particular, in better reaching young target groups via modern information channels. The dedicated team works closely with young people in a historically significant region. Dili is a family-friendly location with an active international community. The urban centre of Timor-Leste has good infrastructure, a stable security situation and good international connections. The city offers a wide range of leisure activities and schools in English and Portuguese for all age groups. Basic medical care is provided by private clinics and the national hospital.
