In Kosovo, Caritas Switzerland is implementing a notable agricultural project, funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation and the Municipality of Prishtina. This project, part of the EREA program, aims to enhance the socio-economic development of the country by supporting farmers and the agricultural sector in generating income and creating new employment opportunities. Specifically, the EREA program aims to create more sustainable and inclusive market systems by increasing the participation of producers and market actors, thereby enhancing their income and productivity and reducing poverty among rural populations, particularly women and marginalized groups. The main Objective/Purpose of this assignment is to strengthen the agricultural sector's capacity, particularly the three agricultural sectors supported by the EREA programme, to promote Kosovo's EU accession. EU experts will enhance the capabilities of NAs and other stakeholders, including NGOs and officials, ensuring alignment with EU standards and facilitating market access.Deliverables and TimeframeThe consultancy involves developing an inception report, training materials, and at least three action plans for NAs to comply with EU accession and market standards. This project, limited to 14,000 Euros, will run until March 31, 2026, with main activities scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2025.
