As a Junior Political Officer (academic internship), you will be part of the Embassy's diplomatic team and gain first-hand insight into Switzerland's bilateral relations with Singapore and the region. This internship offers a unique combination of political analysis, communications, and project work – with real responsibility from day one. You'll also have the chance to interact with the Consular Section, the Swiss Business Hub Southeast Asia + Pacific, the Defence Attaché Office, and Switzerland Tourism – all based at the Embassy. What You'll Do - Monitor developments and contribute to reporting on political, economic and human rights topics - Prepare daily media summaries and briefings - Support the Embassy's public diplomacy and social media presence- Help organize and run events (panels, cultural events, seminars, film screenings) - Participate in meetings and events across politics, economy, culture and education Your work will have real visibility and impact within a dynamic diplomatic environment.What You Bring- Strong interest in international relations and global affairs - A study focus on law, economics, or Southeast Asia is a plus - Excellent writing and analytical skills in German or French, and excellent command of English - Social media savviness (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X) and content creation skills - Organized, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks - Team player with a positive attitude in a multicultural environment. No extensive work experience required – we value team spirit, initiative and willingness to learn. Eligibility - Swiss nationality or permanent residence in Switzerland - Completed a university degree (preferably Master's) - Graduation must be within 12 months prior to the start of the internshipSalary The internship offers a monthly stipend of SGD 3,850, intended to support living expenses in Singapore. Interns are expected to cover travel, accommodation and other personal costs.
