The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence.  Coordinator of the CPS program in Ukraine (m/f/x) In addition to the coordination role, you will also work as an integrated CPS Co-Worker, holding a 50% position in the Development Department of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. As Coordinator, the following responsibilities are envisaged in particular:You design and manage, with a high degree of autonomy, the start-up phase of AGIAMONDO's CPS country programme in Ukraine, in dialogue with the local Church and partner organisations, and in close coordination with AGIAMONDO's head office. You plan new partner collaborations, assess staffing needs, and prepare project applications as well as reporting to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). You are responsible for the annual financial planning of the country programme and oversee the appropriate use of funds. You actively connect the partner organisations involved in the programme and promote cooperation and exchange with other relevant national and international organisations and stakeholders. You accompany future CPS co-workers and partner organisations in their life and work on site. You work in close cooperation with coordinators of other CPS providers to jointly shape the strategic orientation of the CPS in Ukraine and contribute AGIAMONDO's distinct profile to this process. As CPS Co-Worker, your responsibilities include in particular:You support coordination and cooperation at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv between various university institutes, including the Just Peace Center, the Faculties of Journalism and Media and of Law, as well as units working on psychosocial support for veterans and their families and on the rehabilitation of war victims in physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions. You contribute to the joint development of a peacebuilding cooperation concept together with the Development Department of UCU and the involved academic units. You build a partner network, plan new cooperations, assess staffing needs, and prepare project applications and reporting to the BMZ. The duty station is not suitable for families accompanied by children. Your profile:You hold a university degree, preferably in a social science or humanities discipline. A qualification in peace and conflict studies is an asset. You have several years of professional experience in development or peace cooperation, preferably within church-based or civil society organisations. This includes international experience, ideally in Central and Eastern Europe (e.g. Ukraine) or in contexts of protracted violence.You have advisory and facilitation skills as well as solid expertise in programme and project management, including budget responsibility.You have knowledge and experience in the fields of peacebuilding and reconciliation work.You possess diplomatic skills and highly differentiated intercultural communication abilities that enable a partnership-based approach with diverse stakeholders and appropriate engagement in church contexts.You identify with AGIAMONDO's church-based profile and convincingly support the goals and principles of church-based development cooperation.You have very good command of German and English and are willing to learn Ukrainian.You are a citizen of an EU member state or Switzerland and belong to a Christian church. Your new role responsible and challengingBuilding on long-standing partnerships within the global Church in Ukraine, AGIAMONDO is developing a new CPS country programme with the aim of specifically strengthening social cohesion in a context shaped by ongoing violence. The programme focuses on the strategic support of church-based and church-affiliated structures as key civil society actors that create spaces for dialogue and encounter, counteract polarisation, and promote constructive societal approaches to dealing with violence.  The coordination of the programme plays a central strategic role, as it ensures the thematic orientation of the programme, effective coordination among the involved actors, and the sustainable anchoring of programme activities. An important contribution to social cohesion is also made through cooperation with the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv (UCU), which brings its academic expertise, institutional networks, and societal reach into the CPS programme.  As Coordinator, you are largely responsible for the establishment of the new CPS country programme. You work in close coordination with AGIAMONDO's head office in Cologne. Through programme development, you contribute to quality assurance and results-oriented implementation of the country programme, serve as a key contact person for partner organisations and future CPS co-workers, and represent AGIAMONDO on site.  Your place of residence and work, Lviv, offers a diverse cultural life with museums, theatres, parks, and opportunities for sports even under the current circumstances. The CPS is a personnel programme for peace-building and the prevention of violence in crisis and conflict regions. It sets out to promote a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Working with church-related and civil-social partner organisations in Kenya, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution towards civil conflict management as well as equitable sustainable development through peace-building measures.  Coordinator of the CPS Programme in Kenya (m/f/x)  Your new role – responsible and challenging  Kenya is characterized by a complex interplay of sociopolitical polarization, historical injustices, and increasing environmental changes, which are fuelling local conflicts in rural areas. Many communities are affected by tensions over resources such as water and land, which are further exacerbated by economic pressures and unequal access to these resources. Through the Civil Peace Service (CPS), AGIAMONDO collaborates with partner organizations that contribute to positive peace at the local level by strengthening interfaith dialogue, promoting environmental peace, and addressing the legacy of violence. Through structured dialogue processes and community-based initiatives, engaged community membersparticularly women and young peoplehelp break down prejudices, address historical injustices, and transform resource-related conflicts. This fosters new trust, collaborative peace initiatives, and sustainable environmental practices. As Coordinator you will design and manage the CPS national programme in Kenya in coordination with the Cologne office. Your programme development activities will contribute to quality assurance and the focus on effectiveness. You will serve as the contact person for partner organisations and development workers, while also representing AGIAMONDO on site. In many places, however, social prejudices, conflicts over resources and a lack of dialogue lead to tensions. The Catholic partner organisation CDJP Garoua is meeting these challenges with a peace-building approach that focuses on awareness-raising, education and dialogue.
