Zones de conflits armés, épidémies, pandémies, catastrophes naturelles ou accès limité aux soins de santé, voici nos terrains d'intervention. Toutes ces situations nécessitent des ressources médicales et logistiques adaptées dont les autorités sanitaires et les ministères de la Santé ne disposent pas, ou pas en nombre suffisant, c'est pourquoi une assistance médicale internationale est essentielle aux populations.

The UREPH (Research Unit on Humanitarian Stakes and Practices) of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Switzerland was created in 2006 and aims to improve the way MSF projects are implemented in the field and to participate in critical thinking on humanitarian and medical action, notably by producing publications and organizing conferences and debates. The UREPH carries out research that enables a better understanding of operational challenges and fosters an analytical and reflective approach to humanitarian practices and issues
As part of a small team, the Researcher is amongst the leading persons within MSF Switzerland/Operational Center Geneva (OCG) for the capitalisation and the research around operational and ethical issues. She/He represents MSF-CH in various forums regarding these aspects (academic gatherings, communications events, etc.). She/He is also expected to be available to carry other tasks (field visit, teaching, etc.) if compatible with the approach of the main research.
She/He must have a polyvalent profile and be capable of rapid conceptualisation of the issues at stake in current and emerging themes. The post requires general interest, knowledge, and MSF field coordination experience, as well as an ability to take on ad hoc dossiers depending on the circumstances and requests from other departments. The Researcher must be capable of working autonomously, yet hand in hand with external and internal networks, drawing on the latter to secure awareness of current thinking/approaches and position her/his output for maximised use and impact.
The Researcher is directly under the responsibility of and reports to the head of UREPH.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- To contribute to the generation and dissemination of knowledge pertaining to humanitarian action, its stakes and practices, relevant to current MSF programmes:
- Publication of peer-reviewed research articles, through academic journals with international readership
- Study design and formulation of methodology
- Field collection of specific data as needed
- Collection of bibliography
- Article writing (as main contributing author)
- Article submission and editorial correspondence
- Article finalisation according to peer reviews
- Article publication
- Presentation of research results in internal (MSF) and external meetings
- Submission of abstracts
- Attend conferences or other meetings relevant to research topics
- To contribute to building partnerships between MSF and humanitarian, academic or public health institutions, and think tanks:
- Representation of UREPH in external meetings, workshops or consultations
- Lectures on humanitarian action, ethical issues or related topics
- Participation in workshops or high-level events and consultations
- To lead or participate in internal debates, so as to challenge institutional and operational policies and initiate constructive critical reflection on how our organisation both functions and delivers its medico-humanitarian assistance:

Your profile
Education
- Master's degree in social sciences, global health, public health, political sciences, medical anthropology or a related field (PhD a plus)

OCG is strengthening its institutional safeguarding capacity. As part of this evolution, the former Abuse and Behavior Unit will become the Safeguarding Unit, reflecting MSF's commitment to the four pillars of safeguarding: prevention, detection, reporting, and response.
The Safeguarding Unit will be reinforced by two Safeguarding Advisors and a Case Management Lead. The Safeguarding Advisors will provide technical expertise and support departments in developing policies, tools, and solutions that advance safeguarding objectives.
The Case Management Lead is responsible for ensuring the timely, effective, and high-quality management of complaints and reports received by the unit concerning allegations of abuse against persons, as well as fraud and corruption.
The Case Management Lead oversees the day-to-day administrative case management related to alerts and complaints received by the organisation. This role ensure that MSF Standards of Case Management are followed and all reports concerned are addressed with professionalism and in a timely manner. The role includes directly managing reporting and complaints, while overseeing and providing guidance to the case management team to ensure the timely, consistent, and high-quality handling of all cases. This role serves as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration throughout the case management process to ensure its timely and successful completion. This role involves prioritising the investigation work of the case manager teams and providing strategic and technical guidance to support effective case management decision making.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all reported complaints received by the teams are addressed and handled in accordance with the protocols in place
- Coordinate all communications relating to case management, guaranteeing effective information sharing and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that strategic and technical advice is provided to case managers and other parties involved
- Ensure decision making and application of any risk mitigating measures.
- Coordinate sharing of the case management outcomes with the relevant Committees part of the OCG governance and support the follow-up of decisions taken with the operational line and affected parties.
- Oversee the work of MSF case managers and investigation teams, providing the level of support, coaching needed
- Conduct administrative investigation when need be or when delegated by the head of the safeguarding unit

This role will lead the implementation of safeguarding across programmes, provide strategic support to operations, and coordinate the deployment of the flying safeguarding team to support the achievement of safeguarding objectives according to the context and needs of each mission
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Lead the operational implementation of safeguarding across all programs, ensuring that safeguarding principles and technical standards, safeguarding risk assessments, and mitigation measures are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.
- In collaboration with the flying team, guide and provide technical support to program teams in developing, operationalizing, and monitoring the implementation of the Mission Behavior Fundamentals, ensuring these measures are consistently applied and effectively integrated into operation department and programs including safe recruitment, safe programming, detection and local reporting mechanisms for patients, care takers and communities' members
- Mobilize, coordinate and deploy dedicated flying teams and provide technical safeguarding support in the rollout of the Mission Behavior Fundamentals and safeguarding priorities, in collaboration/concertation with the operational teams.
- Develop a program support model with dedicated locally appointed safeguarding human resources that ensures projects benefit from technical safeguarding expertise at both project and coordination levels.
- Ensure that local program dedicated resources are supported by both coordination and the flying referents through technical guidance and oversight of safeguarding implementation.
- Work in synergies and in a functional mode with the OCG head of safeguarding to ensure coherence and alignment with OCG positioning technical safeguarding standards, and organizational priorities
- Work in collaboration with deployed safeguarding staff and country teams to produce detailed country-level safeguarding situation and risk analyses that inform strategic decision-making, prioritize safeguarding actions in accordance with organizational objectives and operational realities, and oversee the implementation and effectiveness of safeguarding measures.
- Represent the Operations Directorate in internal and external meetings requiring operational and technical safeguarding input, analysis, or coordination related to the OCG Safeguarding Plan at programme level. Support any internal communication requesting the accountability of ops department in regards to safeguarding.

- Documents the models, methodological choices and limitations of automated systems
- Ensures the collection, processing, description, preservation, disclosure and secure disposal of documents
- Ensures the continuity of the ADOC unit's activities in the absence of colleagues (documentalist, archivist-records manager)

- A tertiary degree or equivalent in Information Science or History
- Strong coding skills (Python, R, JavaScript, etc.)

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
The Learning & Development Department provides and coordinates learning opportunities accessible to diverse MSF contexts. As part of its AI vision, the department is exploring innovative solutions to improve access to training content and support personalized learning pathways for MSF staff.
The AI Learning Solutions Intern will actively contribute to the design, development, configuration, and testing of AI-enabled learning solutions, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) chatbots, AI-assisted knowledge retrieval systems, and personalized learning recommendation tools based on skills, profiles, and learning needs.
The intern will contribute to the technical implementation and continuous improvement of AI-supported learning services in collaboration with L&D, IT and other business stakeholders.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to:
- Gain practical experience in the design and implementation of AI-enabled learning and knowledge management solutions.
- Develop hands-on skills in RAG application development, knowledge retrieval workflows, prompt engineering and AI response evaluation.
- Understand the design and implementation of AI-powered recommendation systems for personalized learning experiences.
- Strengthen analytical and technical skills related to data organization, testing, and user-centered solution development.
- Learn how to collaborate in a cross-functional and international environment involving L&D, IT and other business stakeholders.
- Understand how AI solutions are designed, tested and governed within a humanitarian organization
Tasks and responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, configuration, and testing of Retrieval Augmented
- Generation (RAG) chatbots and AI-assisted knowledge retrieval systems.
- Support the integration, structuring, and preparation of learning content and metadata for AI indexing, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval workflows.
- Participate in the design and testing of personalized learning recommendation mechanisms based on user profiles, skills, competencies, and learning pathways.
- Assist in prompt engineering, AI testing, response evaluation, and troubleshooting activities to improve system relevance, accuracy, and usability.
- Analyse user needs, learning pathways, and usage patterns to support the development of personalized and AI-assisted learning experiences.
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of metadata schemas, taxonomy structures, tagging standards, and content governance practices supporting AI solutions.
- Collaborate with L&D, IT and other stakeholders to prototype, document, test, and improve AI-supported learning and knowledge management solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, presentations, reports, and recommendations supporting the evolution of AI-supported learning services.
Your profile
- Have a tripartite internship agreement
- Bachelor's degree (atteigned or in progress) in Learning Technologies, Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Knowledge Management, Educational Technology, or related field.
- Master's degree or ongoing specialization in AI, Learning Sciences, Knowledge Management, or Digital Transformation a plus.
- English and French: excellent writing and communication skills
- Previous academic or internship experience related to AI tools, learning platforms, data structuring, or knowledge management is an asset but not required.
- Learning and AI: AI-assisted search, Retrieval augmented generation (RAG), Metadata and content organization
- Software and tools: Sharepoint, Microsoft 365, Azure AI Studio, MS Copilot Studio
- Programming: SQL, python, APIs, prompt engineering, Git, LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks
- Curiosity and willingness to learn, Attention to detail, Analytical thinking, Team and collaboration skills, Accountability, Flexibility, Ethical awareness, Taking initiative

Contexte & Mission
Médecins Sans Frontières est une organisation médicale et humanitaire internationale indépendante qui fournit des soins aux personnes dans le besoin, aux personnes touchées par des catastrophes naturelles ou causées par l'homme et aux victimes de conflits armés, sans discrimination et sans tenir compte de la race, de la religion, des croyances ou de l'appartenance politique (Charte de MSF).
L'unité digitale est l'une des huit cellules métier du Département Communication et Recherche de Fonds. Répartie entre Genève et Zurich, elle réunit huit collaborateurs et collaboratrices. Sa mission est de développer et fidéliser les audiences sur les canaux digitaux afin de renforcer la communication de MSF et de soutenir l'acquisition de donateurs. Elle est également responsable de la conception, du développement et de l'administration de l'écosystème digital de MSF.
La ou le stagiaire intégrera l'unité digitale et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec l'ensemble de ses membres, en particulier avec le chargé des médias sociaux francophones.
Objectifs pédagogiques du stage :
- Acquérir et développer les compétences nécessaires à la conception, à la publication et à l'animation de contenus sur les réseaux sociaux, notamment Instagram et Facebook ;
- Développer des compétences en gestion de projet, en coordination et en collaboration avec des parties prenantes internes et externes ;
- Se familiariser avec les pratiques et les outils de communication digitale d'une organisation humanitaire internationale.
Principales responsabilités
La ou le stagiaire sera amené·e à :
- Assurer la gestion des médias sociaux : publication de contenus, monitoring et community management sur Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn et TikTok ;
- Créer des contenus pour différents canaux digitaux à l'aide de Canva, CapCut ou d'outils similaires, y compris des contenus face caméra si le ou la candidat·e le souhaite ;
- Soutenir l'unité digitale dans la mise en œuvre de campagnes digitales de communication ou de collecte de fonds ;
- Assurer une veille des dernières tendances en matière de médias sociaux et de communication digitale ;
- Suivre la traduction des contenus et publier des contenus sur le site web msf.ch.
Profil recherché
Exigences
- Intérêt pour les réseaux sociaux et bonne connaissance des tendances ainsi que des bonnes pratiques ;
- Bonne maîtrise des formats et codes propres aux différentes plateformes sociales ;
- Excellentes compétences rédactionnelles en français ;
- Bonnes connaissances orales et écrites de l'anglais ; l'allemand constitue un atout ;
- Connaissances en création de contenus visuels et en montage vidéo (p. ex. Canva, CapCut).
Compétences personnelles
- Créativité et capacité à proposer des contenus adaptés aux usages des réseaux sociaux ;
- Intérêt marqué pour l'action humanitaire ;
- Excellentes compétences relationnelles, flexibilité et esprit d'équipe ;
