Purpose of Job


The Analyst is responsible for completing a variety of operational tasks across equivalent middle and back office functions that directly interface with Banking origination, portfolio teams and Treasury front office. Day-to-day, the team(s) are principally responsible for processing disbursements (and other related transactional activity) across a range of products, ensuring that EBRD accurately and timely processes, settles and manages Banking/Treasury transactions in the global markets as well as leading changes to legal documentation post signing. The individual will manage a portfolio of varying complexity, interacting with colleagues across the Banking and Treasury teams. They will also interact with other functions involved in end-to-end processes, including (but is not limited to) Treasury, Risk, Office of General Counsel (OGC), Willis, EBRD's Insurance advisor and broader Corporate Services teams. Where relevant the role holder will interact with B Lenders, co-investors, Agents and Arrangers on co-financed projects and handle client (borrower) communications on banking matters. The Analyst may also provide support and training to the Assistant Analysts in the delivery of their tasks.

The individual will need to adopt a continuous improvement mindset and will be expected to support and be a part of improving operational processes across the OSM function.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities


Operational Performance:


? Execute operational processes across a range of activities in equivalent middle and back office support functions that facilitate the adequate documenting, booking, funding and monitoring/reconciliation of the Bank's products (e.g. disbursing bank funds across a range of product types)
? Demonstrate personnel commitment to delivering outstanding operational performance by adhering to established operational metrics ? timeliness, quality and customer satisfaction
? Responds to operational queries in a prompt and timely manner
? Communicate with relevant departments to ensure that the decision-makers are aware of the risks involved with specific projects/transactions
? Based on experience and/or expertise when required provide support and training to Assistant Analysts in the team in the delivery of their portfolio related tasks
? Where necessary, provide additional capacity across OSM to ensure expected service levels are maintained, including unanticipated deadlines defined by Banking clients

? Be an ambassador for OSM across other departments by delivering outstanding operational outcomes


Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications


The individual appointed must have the necessary seniority to be able to take on responsibilities associated with the role, being able to handle the pressures of the role in a manner appropriate to the Bank. The candidate should have the following:


? University educated, or equivalent work experience
? Comprehensive banking, legal or credit skills as well as a good understanding of treasury and banking products transacted by EBRD
? Appreciation of the impact that the function has with other key departments in the servicing of Banking and Treasury transactions
? Strong customer service orientation and ability to proactively identify opportunities for improved customer outcomes
? Experience with Summit, Frameworks, Debt Domain, SAP or Swift systems considered advantageous
? Experience of being part of a team that has transformed itself utilising continuous improvement techniques would be considered beneficial
? Experience of working in a team that utilises operational metrics to effectively manage operational teams would be advantageous
? Excellent written and verbal communication in English required. Knowledge of another language would also be considered beneficial
? Sufficient credibility to advise peers across the organisation, helping mitigate banking/operational risks
? Must have positive, collaborative and solution orientated attitude
? Strong computer skills (Microsoft outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
? Strong team player, attention to detail, strong analytical skills with the ability to organise, multi task and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines

Under the overall guidance of the Director, Gender and Economic Inclusion, the post holder will work with the WE Finance Code Lead to coordinate the gender and inclusion actions related to the implementation of the WE Finance Code and cooperate with the WeFinance Code Lead and relevant colleagues on overall operationalization of the cross-regional programme.      The WE Finance Code is a global policy initiative, funded by We-Fi, that aims to close financing barriers faced by women entrepreneurs through a coordinated public-private stakeholder effort to improve collection and use of sex-disaggregated data. The post holder will support and coordinate the ongoing We-Fi activities across all three regions, with special focus on activities in Egypt and Morocco. Specifically, with the support of the WE Finance Code Lead, the Analyst will coordinate as required the rollout of all steps envisioned for the implementation of the WE Finance Code. They will oversee technical assistance projects and the work of the WE Finance Code implementing consultant in the regions. Moreover, sitting in HQ, the post holder will support the WE Finance Code lead with overall operationalisation and coordination of the cross-regional WE Finance Code Programme. The analyst will oversee and track the programme budget, ensuring compliance with internal EBRD policies and donor funds agreements. They will also engage on reporting to the donor and other stakeholders, tracking progress and identifying lessons learned from the region.        The post holder will work in close cooperation with G&EI colleagues as well as other departments under the VP3 (i.e. Climate Strategy and Delivery (CSD), Policy Strategy and Delivery (PSD), Impact & Partnerships (IP)), the Banking department and other Bank groups (Risk, Environmental and Social Teams, Legal), Communications, and with Resident Offices (Ros).        Background    The GEI department falls under the Vice Presidency for Policy and Partnerships (VP3) which has an ambitious vision for the Bank's policy, partnerships and impact agenda. The VP3 aims to: (i) streamline the Bank's policy agenda by centralising the policy coordination and delivery functions; (ii) improve the Bank's results, knowledge and learning architecture and (iii) enhance the objectivity, rigor, credibility and accountability of the Bank's Impact function. The vision for this change is to have a more strategic, coherent, focused and better aligned policy, impact and partnerships functions fit for purpose to deliver on the ever more complex challenges faced by our COOs.     Under the VP3, the GEI Department leads the design and implementation of the EBRD's Strategy for the Promotion of Gender Equality (SPGE 2021-2025) and the Equality of Opportunity Strategy (EOS 2021-2025). The Department also leads on the operationalisation of the engagement areas of the 2 strategies at project/ policy levels, regular internal/external updates. The Department also leads project, policy and TC design and delivery of products/solutions for access to entrepreneurship and finance, skills and jobs, and services, and inclusive elements of digital and green project/policy engagement across regions/sectors, in partnership with banking. Manage the design and implementation of the gender SMART tagging process across all sectors, provide advice to banking on optimising gender impact, and track progress. Create gender/inclusive knowledge products; lead international/MDB engagement in these areas.       Facts / Scale   - The post holder is part of the Access to Finance and Entrepreneurship pillar of the Gender & Economic Inclusion team in PSD. (They report to the Associate Director, G&EI, and supports the team and the G&EI Director on cross-pillar initiatives and products; - The post holder will further be recognised in the gender and inclusion field with specific focus on access to finance and entrepreneurship with the youth and regional inclusion, migration and refugees, skills development, inclusive finance, and works across thematic teams within G&EI; - The post holder works with and supports the WE Finance Code Lead - The post holder supports the implementation of one large-scale inclusion and gender policy engagement programme, in particular the WE Finance Code, and interacts with the relevant Banking colleagues in HQs and relevant ROs, and external stakeholders as needed, in Egypt and Morocco - The post holder supports implementation of at least 3 technical assistance assignments related to the WE Finance Code, including project and policy level activities, the successful management of consultants, the delivery of outputs on time and to budget, as well as related donor engagement, reporting and, at times, fundraising. - The post holder tracks the We Finance programme budget, obtains internal approvals when needed, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies and donor agreements. - The post holder provides key input and oversight of inclusion and gender policy elements into country diagnostic studies and country strategies and engages with EPG Regional Lead Economists, the Country Strategy teams in HQ and other key EBRD teams on inclusion elements of country strategies. - The post holder contributes to selected G&EI management issues as required. - The post holder acts as a champion and role model of the Bank's Behavioural Competencies and Corporate Behaviours, ensuring adherence within the team(s) so that the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct are always exhibited. - No budget responsibility.       Accountabilities & Responsibilities   - In line with the Bank's Transition mandate, supports the design, appraisal and monitoring of investment projects and TCs for their impact on inclusion as part of transition and monitors the portfolio of projects with inclusion impact for transition performance, through engagement with Banking project teams and due diligence visits to the region. - Supports the implementation of the policy dialogue activities under WE Finance Code engaging with the relevant ecosystem players and champions at the national, regional, and international levels. This will include supporting the national and regional coalitions, supporting signatories, and tracking progress. - Manages Technical Cooperation (TC) projects related to the WE Finance Code, supports the selection of consultants when needed, oversees the work of the Code implementing consultants in the region, tracks their progress, and ensures outputs are delivers on time and on budget. - Supports the We Finance Code Lead on overall programme management. Tracks the We Finance programme budget, obtaining internal approvals when needed, tracks overall programme progress and engages in donor reporting, and provides administrative support to manage consultancy contracts. - Monitors and assesses reform challenges and progress in relation to inclusion and gender issues in SEMED, and support the We Finance Code lead on the design and delivery of gender-responsive policy dialogue, through analytical work, contributions towards strategy papers and supports liaising with key senior level stakeholders such as banking regulator, banking associations, credit guarantees and information bureaus, private sector clients and strategic partners of the Bank. - Supports inclusion and gender capacity building within the Bank, specifically in Banking teams and Regional / Resident Offices, through presentations, inclusion and gender workshops and seminars. Maintains a strong awareness of the international debate on gender, inclusion, skills and inequality issue. - Support with the organisation of events to promote the launch, awareness, and visibility of the Code.
