Purpose of Job


The Associate Sustainability Reporting contributes to the Bank's externally assured sustainability reporting, including disclosures prepared in line with leading global standards such as IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (ISSB) and other evolving frameworks.


Working closely with the Associate Director, Sustainability Reporting, they play a key role in advancing the Bank's sustainability reporting agenda at a time of significant regulatory and market change, contributing to high-impact, externally visible outputs and help shape best practices in the sector.



Background


The sustainability reporting function within Financial Control is responsible for coordinating the Bank's externally assured sustainability disclosures. This involves close collaboration with multiple functions across the Bank, including Climate Risk Management, Environment & Sustainability, and Climate Strategy & Delivery, Data Governance, Communication's and others.


The team leads the implementation and application of sustainability reporting standards and works closely with data owners across the organisation to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency of reported information. It also coordinates with internal and external auditors to support the external assurance process.


The Associate role is a key contributor to this process, working across departments to support the preparation of disclosures, improve data quality and strengthen reporting processes. The role contributes to the drafting, coordination and validation of sustainability disclosures including the annual materiality assessment, supports the external assurance process, and helps ensure that appropriate controls, processes and documentation are in place to enable high-quality, decision-useful sustainability reporting.



Accountabilities & Responsibilities


  • Own the preparation and validation of assigned disclosure areas of the Bank's sustainability reports, including ISSB-aligned reporting
  • Coordinate inputs from multiple departments and ensure completeness, consistency and quality of disclosures
  • Analyse and validate sustainability data, ensuring accuracy and alignment with reporting requirements
  • Review and challenge inputs provided by contributing teams to enhance overall disclosure quality
  • Support the annual external assurance process, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries
  • Assist in maintaining robust documentation, processes and controls over sustainability reporting metrics
  • Working independently on standards and moderately complex reporting and assurance matters
  • Assess and support the adoption of new and evolving frameworks (e.g. ISSB, CSRD, TCFD)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Environment & Sustainability, and Climate Strategy teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, systems and reporting efficiency
  • Contribute to the robustness of reporting controls, documentation and assurance readiness

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, Economics or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or working towards qualification preferred
  • Relevant certifications in sustainability or ESG as a strong asset
  • Significant relevant experience in sustainability reporting, climate or ESG disclosures or related advisory service, audit, or related areas gained within international financial institutions or consulting firms
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as ISSB, TCFD, CSRD, or equivalent is desirable
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex datasets
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and structured disclosures
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of controls, governance and reporting processes
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with SAP or similar systems is advantageous

Under the guidance of the operation leader and/or more senior bankers, the Analyst performs those tasks assigned to them and provides support to the operation leader and the project team throughout the project cycle, with a particular emphasis on research, data gathering, credit analysis and financial modelling.   The Infrastructure Eurasia Team is a leading provider of finance for infrastructure in Turkey, Central Asia, Mongolia, and Caucasus. It finances projects in both the private and public sectors in all areas of transport and municipal infrastructure. The position will be based in London and will focus on infrastructure projects across the Eurasian region.      Accountabilities & Responsibilities     Under the guidance of the operation leader or a more senior banker:   Structuring and Execution   - Work as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution, including comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information and financial performance data; analyse and evaluate potential risks related to the proposed project, including analysis of financial statements, preparing and updating financial models and financial projections; - Assist with the designing and processing of technical co-operation assistance, including preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation, to support the  related investment project or the related policy dialogue initiative; - As may be requested, assist with communication with other internal units of the Bank, clients and other stakeholders, at the operational level, such as preparing draft correspondence, presentations, and following up on internal emails; - Ensure that all tasks assigned to the Analyst are completed within the specified time frames to a high quality and in line with the policies, procedures and objectives of the Bank.   Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting   - As requested by the operation leader or a Portfolio Manager, undertake assigned tasks relating to the implementation and monitoring of projects to which the Analyst is assigned as part of the project team, including compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures related to disbursement, monitoring of progress of the project and financial performance of the client, assessing evolving risk factors and monitoring and assessing covenant compliance; - As requested by the operation leader or more senior member of the project team, prepare timely and comprehensive draft monitoring reports and include recommendations for corrective actions where required and ensure these corrective actions and recommendations are brought to the attention of more senior team members; -  As may be requested by, and under the supervision of, a TC operation leader, assist with the effective implementation and monitoring of TC assignments including communication with TC client, monitoring of TC fund usage, preparation and filing of relevant TC progress and completion reports to support the TC operation leader to meet donor reporting requirements and operational objectives.   The responsibilities of the Analyst are designed to allow the Analyst to progressively undertake more complex tasks and build the scope of responsibilities based on acquired experience and expertise.     Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Knowledge   - Bachelor's degree.
