Purpose of Job


The Analyst, EU Pillar, plays a key role in the Bank's engagement with the EU in the DG ENEST/MENA/INTPA region. The focus of the role is on supporting the implementation of EU-financed projects, including reporting, while also providing assistance on monitoring, fund analysis and other tasks relevant to the EU portfolio.

The role reports to the Principal Manager, EU Pillar and works closely with all colleagues in the EU Pillar, Donor Partnerships, the wider Client Services Group, and other Departments.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities


The Analyst will play a key role in the Donor Partnerships EU Pillar. In particular, the Analyst will support the Donor Partnerships team through the maintenance of a systematic approach to transaction support and information flow between, amongst others, Donor Partnerships and other EBRD departments, and between the EBRD and the EC.


? In partnership with the Principal Manager and other colleagues, support Banking teams in the implementation of their EU-funded portfolio.
? Prepare materials and support the Principal Manager and other colleagues in the management of cross-Bank engagements.
? Monitor and manage information requests and reporting submissions. Compile and process reporting data.
? Support regular negotiations with the EC, maintaining awareness of live issues and keeping documentary records of the same.
? In coordination with the Principal Manager, and other departments, facilitate document requests during monitoring visits/external audits from time to time.
? Track and monitor the disbursement of EU funds in SAP across countries and sectors. Liaise with Banking team on matters relating to earmarks and SAP funds management
? Facilitate coordination, agenda setting, and the preparation of presentations for internal/external meetings on all matters relating to the EU portfolio, reacting flexibly to new developments.
? In partnership with the Principal Manager and other colleagues, develop and foster the network of contacts at an operational level with key interlocutors in Brussels, EU Delegations and across the Bank on EU related matters.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications


? Master's degree preferred. Experience in the relevant areas of expertise (such as business administration, international relations, development, economics or finance) and/or CFA is desirable.
? Relevant financial industry experience from an international financial institution, in other international organisations, or in the private sector.
? Thorough understanding of the Bank's business model, strategies, policies and organisation.
? Knowledge of and strong interest in the functioning of the EU institutions.
? Proven strong analytical skills are critical with the ability to summarise data and information.
? Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office.
? Ability to work effectively as a team member, to deadlines and under time pressure.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Additional languages desirable.

In 2025 alone, the Bank mobilised over €2 billion in new donor funds. Donor contributions remain vital to the Bank's ability to fulfil its transition mandate by enabling technical cooperation, grant-based financing and concessional instruments across its operations. Donor funds, coordinated through Donor Partnerships (DP) and other internal units, act as a catalyst by aligning donor priorities with the Bank's strategic objectives. These partnerships are integral to the EBRD's capacity to deliver transition impact and support policy reform. The Principal II will take a leadership role in managing a portfolio of European Union (EU) funds and partnerships and in providing strategic advice to help position the EBRD as a lead agency for product quality and delivery. Requisition ID 37089 Office Country United Kingdom Office City London Division Banking Sectors   Contract Type Fixed Term  Contract Length 4 years with potential to renew for a further 4 years  Posting End Date 25/10/2026          Purpose of Job   The Managing Director, Equity will be responsible for the equity investment activity of the Bank, both in direct equity investment and in participation in funds (such as private equity, infrastructure, venture capital, mezzanine and debt funds); as well as overseeing the monitoring of the portfolio of the same.    The Managing Director, Equity will have responsibility for ensuring a unified equity culture within the Banking Group through origination, processing, value creation, portfolio management and exits within the Banking Group.  The Managing Director will also be responsible for periodically reviewing the Bank's equity approach and updating this as markets and economic conditions change.   The Managing Director will combine investment experience, a strong commitment to the Bank's mandate and institutional goals, and well-developed leadership/management skills. The successful candidate will also have a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration and good risk management skills.   Based at London Headquarters, the role will report to First Vice President, Client Services Group (CSG). The Private Equity Teams, Equity Funds Team, Venture Capital Investment Programme (VCIP) and Equity Portfolio Management Unit (EPMU) all report directly to the MD Equity.    In aligning the equity function with institutional and financial objectives, the incumbent will liaise actively with the VP Risk, and the VP Finance/CFO as well as consulting with a range of stakeholders across departments. The MD Equity is a member of the Bank's Equity Committee. The appointment to this position is envisaged to be for an initial duration of 4 years, in line with the Bank's practice for appointments to the Senior Leadership Group (SLG).    Facts/Scale   - The Bank's annual equity investments are between EUR 0.5-1.0 billion. - The Equity Funds current portfolio is almost 175 funds, with an average annual new commitments in 15-20 Funds.   - The group is comprised of c.95 staff, majority located in HQ and across a few of the Bank's Countries of Operations. - Equity Operating Assets of over EUR 8 billion between Direct Equity and Equity Funds. - Accountable for the management of the Equity Group's staff and non-staff costs budget.    Accountabilities & Responsibilities   - Accountable for the Equity Group's provision of best in-class equity investment operating standards and risk management, whilst delivering on the Bank's impact mandate.  - Provide strategic guidance for enhancing the origination and processing of the Bank's equity investments.
