Context & mission

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The role ensures the energy monitoring system delivers reliable, actionable and scalable insights, by bringing energy expertise into its design and implementing the required energy sensors and systems in the selected pilot missions. It will also support local teams in adopting the new system by documenting and sharing its energy expertise.

Tasks & Responsibilities

1. Propose and document the conceptual architecture of energy installations and smart sensors, based on personal technical expertise and discussions with Energy and IT stakeholders, to ensure consistent, interoperable, and scalable energy monitoring across missions.

2. Propose energy KPIs and insights, to ensure actionable energy performance monitoring.

3. Document guidelines and protocols for the installation, configuration, registration and maintenance of energy sensors and systems to guarantee data quality, consistency, and field usability.

4. Install, configure and register energy sensors and systems on-site and in IT platforms, to collect data from the selected pilot missions.

5. Assess the accuracy and usability of energy data collected through the monitoring platform, to ensure it enables operational decision-making

6. Collect feedback and lessons learned from field and HQ end-users and share them with the project team, to ensure the continuous improvement of the energy monitoring system.

7. Train end-users from the pilot missions on how to maintain and leverage insights from the monitoring system, to facilitate adoption, effective use and long-term maintenance.

Tasks SwS is seeking a consultant for the following tasks · Assess the security culture within the organisation The consultant is expected to assess the security culture of the organisation, considering its responsibility under duty of care, and to make recommendations. · Review the current safety and security framework for field visits The consultant is expected to review the existing arrangements and procedures, including the security event and incident management protocol, and to propose revised or new guidelines and protocols for field visits. · Design and test a crisis management procedure The consultant should propose a procedure and the assignment of roles and responsibilities for the management at headquarter level of security incidents affecting staff members travelling on field visits. About Us ClimateWorks Association of Switzerland (CWAS) is a newly established Swiss association devoted to combatting the climate crisis and mitigating its deleterious effects by analyzing climate programs to assess their actual and potential impact, encouraging collaboration by convening leaders in the field, and funding those programs and collaborations through grantmaking. CWAS is being created to provide a flexible, Switzerland-based philanthropic platform that can support high-impact climate work internationally and help enable efficient, compliant funding flows across regions, particularly in Europe, Asia, and Africa. CWAS partners closely with and complements the work of its U.S.-based affiliate [ClimateWorks Foundation](https://www.climateworks.org/) and advances climate progress by providing philanthropic support for programs that will have the greatest impact throughout the world. Position Summary The Executive Director will serve as the founding operational leader responsible for advancing ClimateWorks Association of Switzerland's mission by developing and overseeing strong financial, operational and grantmaking stewardship. As a Research Intern, you will support the Philanthropy Unit in various aspects. Performance Management, Reporting & Innovation. · Define Objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to donor acquisition, engagement, retention, service quality, and fundraising performance. · Oversee reporting frameworks, performance analysis, and monitoring systems for fundraising campaigns and activities. · Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis, donor trends, and operational performance insights. · Identify opportunities for optimization, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams. · Ensure oversight of data quality and promote best practices in donor data management and analysis. · Monitor sector trends, innovations, and best practices related to fundraising and donor relations. Cross-functional Collaboration & Representation · Ensure effective collaboration and alignment across the Direct Marketing, Donor Care, and Middle Donors teams and with other units of the department. · Foster information sharing, knowledge exchange, and best practices within the Communication & Fundraising Department and across other departments. · Represent the General Public Fundraising department in internal meetings, cross-functional projects, and institutional initiatives. · Maintain active relationships with external professional networks, including Swissfundraising. · Participate in international meetings and working groups related to fundraising and donor engagement activities when relevant. · Contribute to strengthening cross-department collaboration and the development of transversal initiatives. Other Responsibilities · Participate in strategic meetings and projects within the Communication & Fundraising Department. · Provide regular reporting to Management on departmental performance, challenges, risks, and resource needs. · Identify and escalate key issues impacting departmental activities and propose appropriate solutions. · Contribute to organizational development and institutional projects related to fundraising and donor engagement. · Undertake any additional projects or responsibilities assigned by Management. Your profile Education · University degree or higher education qualification in marketing, fundraising, project management, or a related field. Experience · At least 7 years of experience in fundraising and direct marketing within the humanitarian or non-profit sector, including direct mail, telemarketing and digital engagement activities. · At least 5 years of experience in team management and staff development within complex organisational environments. · Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and external service providers. · Strong understanding of humanitarian issues and commitment to humanitarian principles. Languages · Full professional proficiency (written and spoken) in at least two of the following languages: French, German, and English. Proficiency in all three languages is a strong asset. · Knowledge of Italian is an asset. Skills/ Technical competencies · Solid understanding of donor database management and CRM environments. · Strong knowledge of direct marketing retention techniques and communication tools applied to fundraising within a non-profit organisation. · Proficiency in project management and reporting tools. · Strong numerical and analytical skills with advanced proficiency in MS office software, particularly Excel. Terms of employment · Full-time position 90% (36h/week) · Fixed-term contract, 9 months · Working place: Geneva, Switzerland · Ideal start date: August 17th 2026 · Gross monthly salary (for 100%): from CHF 9997.- to CHF 11217.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid) · Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period. · Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member. · Relocation support available for eligible candidates. As emergencies become more frequent, the expectations of UNICEF to deliver on the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action (CCCs) in a timely and effective manner will continue to increase. Emergency preparedness significantly enhances UNICEF's ability to meet these expectations and save time and resources in the response. Newly created People-Centered and Humanitarian Partnership Section manages partnership with UN agencies, International Organizations, the Inter-Agency Standing Committee, Member States, and NGO networks as well as the Standby Partnerships for external experts on surge missions, technical support and service packages deployment to UNICEF offices. This position contributes to this goal.
