On behalf of Misereor, AGIAMONDO is looking for the next possible date for a Head of the Misereor Dialogue and Liaison Office Brazil (m/f/x).

 

 

Your Tasks

  • As Misereor's contact person, you will coordinate cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, including Misereor's partner organisations and the Brazilian Bishops' Conference.
  • You will support Misereor's public relations and education work on Brazil-related topics by creating current updates, procuring material for press releases, being available for interviews and writing articles for Misereor.
  • You will conduct dialogues with German development cooperation (DC), the German Embassy, the political foundations in Brazil, national and international DC networks and partners, particularly in Lusophone Africa.
  • You will also accompany staff on trips, support visits by donors and representatives from the church and politics and take part in national and international exchange meetings and events in Brazil.
  • You will be actively involved in the cooperation with the Brazil team of the Latin America department and thematic working groups at Misereor, take part in continuous dialogue and support the implementation of the Misereor strategy.

 

 

Your Profile

  • You have completed a university degree relevant to development cooperation (e.g. social sciences, regional studies, ethnology or similar), have at least three years of professional experience in development cooperation and have regional knowledge and work experience in Brazil.
  • You have professional expertise and experience in the organisation and implementation of public relations and educational work. You are a strong communicatorconfident in public speaking and have excellent communication skills.
  • You have demonstrable experience in networking with relevant stakeholders and in supporting dialogue processes, in particular with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
  • You have diplomatic skills, highly differentiated intercultural communication skills for dealing with stakeholders in a spirit of partnership and can act appropriately in a church environment.
  • You are fluent in written and spoken German and Portuguese. Knowledge of Spanish and English is desirable.
  • You are an EU citizen or Swiss national and identify with Christian values.

Under the general guidance of the Deputy Representative, you will be responsible for managing and supervising all stages of child protection programmes, under international cooperation and humanitarian interventions,  from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable contributions to national and international standards to create a protective environment for children against all forms of violence as established under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international treaties/frameworks and UN intergovernmental bodies. This includes: - Programme development and planning: Provide technical advice and operational support to the preparation, design and updating of the situation analysis to ensure that current and comprehensive evidence-based data on child protection issues is available to guide UNICEF's strategic policy advocacy, intervention and development efforts on child rights and protection, and to set programme priorities, strategies, design and implementation plans. Keep abreast of national, regional, and international development priorities on child protection to leverage UNICEF's position and competencies with donors, national governments, communities and constituents to advocate and promote child protection interventions, policies and social behavioral change to achieve goals, while promoting gender equality. - Programme management, monitoring and quality control of results: Plan and collaborate on monitoring and evaluation initiatives to establish benchmarks, performance indicators and other UNICEF/UN system indicators, to assess and strengthen performance accountability, coherence and delivery of concrete and sustainable results in child protection programmes. Plan, approve, monitor, certify, and oversee the use of programme resources (financial, human, administrative and other assets) verifying compliance with organizational rules, regulations and procedures, donor commitments and standards of accountability and integrity. IFC's business strategy requires staff to be in the region, closer to clients, and better positioned to support IFC operations.  The position will be based in Sao Paolo, Brazil.   ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: What You'll Be •  An Integrity Counsel focusing on the Latin America and Caribbean region. •  A strategic partner to business teams (investment and advisory). •  A visible, vocal and influential champion for the proper management of integrity issues. •  Reporting to the Principal Counsel – Head, IDD/AML, who leads the Integrity Unit in CBR.    What You'll Do You'll advise business teams with an independent voice on all core aspects of integrity risks as they impact IFC's clients, partners, transactions and new products/initiatives in the above region, to include:  •  Evaluating integrity and reputational risks, making recommendations, and providing solutions to mitigate risk.   •  Employing knowledge, expertise, and sound judgment to address IFC's unique integrity risk profile. •  Developing expertise in regional IDD issues across all sectors in which IFC works. You'll provide legal advice to business teams and management on integrity-related matters in transactions, new products/initiatives, and IFC operations generally, including on the following subjects: •  International and national anti-corruption/bribery laws and regulations (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act, etc.) •  International standards and guidance relating to AML/CFT (e.g., issued by Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Wolfsberg Group) as well as national AML/CFT laws and regulations. •  Other integrity-related laws/regulations and legal issues that arise in IFC business. •  Economic sanctions (such as the UN, EU, UK, and US regimes) and other international trade sanctions and export controls. •  Crisis management and legal advice related to significant integrity legal matters, including potential or actual litigation or involving complex legal issues. •  The legal workings of the WBG Integrity Vice-Presidency (INT) and WBG Sanctions System.
