How can you make a difference?

The WASH Manager reports to the Chief CSD (P5) for general guidance and direction. The Manager supports the Chief in managing the WASH unit/output, and in leading the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH programme within the country programme. The Manager provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes, to ensure the achievement of the WASH-related output results in the country programme. The Manager provides authoritative advisory services to government and sector support agencies and interacts with government at senior levels and with senior staff in the International Development Banks.

  • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results.

  • Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have?

The following minimum requirements:

Education: An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field.

Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are required.

Work Experience: A minimum of eight years of professional experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.

One year of deployment in a developing country is required.

HUMANITARIAN: At least six months of work in humanitarian situations, including one three-month deployment mission (with UN-Govt-INGO), is required. 

Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

 

The following desirables:

Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency. 
Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.

AGIAMONDO is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the [Civil Peace Service (CPS)](https://www.agiamondo.de/en/what-we-offer/civil-peace-service/), we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The CPS is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It works for a world in which conflicts are settled without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Uganda, AGIAMONDO wants to contribute to the civil conflict resolution there and to the sustainable and just development of the country through peacebuilding measures.   The land department of the diocese of Moroto plays an important role in the challenging circumstances of the Karamoja region. Violent clashes regularly occur here due to resource discoveries, population growth and cattle rustling, which have a major impact on the daily lives of the Karamajong population. In this context, there is an urgent need for education on land rights issues.
