The PDP 2023-2028 emphasized, through the inclusion of a National Evaluation Agenda, the key role of evaluation in (a) informing further articulation of the PDP and implementation of programs; (b) conveying progress achieved against priority areas of investment; and (c) promoting transparency and accountability by making evaluation results accessible to all branches of government, and most importantly, to the public.  To support this, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) partnered with UNDP Philippines on a Technical Assistance (TA) project that aims to further strengthen the government's evaluation capacity in line with the finalization of the government's National Evaluation Agenda. The Strengthening Evaluation for Evidence-based Development (SEED) project aims to support the Philippine government in further strengthening its evaluative culture towards evidence-based decision making, good governance, and accountability. Through SEED, UNDP will commission impact evaluations on flagship government programs/projects, conduct structured coaching and mentoring sessions to boost evaluation capacity of government staff, and provide technical advisory services in producing evaluation knowledge products.   In particular, the project will deliver the following: a) impact evaluations of government flagship programs and projects; b) development of evaluation training modules; c) conduct of trainings with government evaluation staff, and d) technical support for structured coaching and mentoring sessions with NEDA in producing evaluation knowledge products. The project works not only with NEDA, which leads the evaluation function in the government, but also with key government implementing agencies.   Under the general supervision of the Project Manager, the Communications Intern will assist and support the Communications and advocacy efforts of SEED including overall assistance for the M&E Network Forum. Other tasks, such as but not limited to programmatic and operational tasks, may also be performed by the intern. The intern will work in close collaboration with various stakeholders of the project, including programme and communications staff, government sector stakeholders, NEDA, CSOs, and communications units of both the Country Office in the Philippines.    Duties and Responsibilities DUTIES  AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Cette situation a un impact dévastateur sur les enfants et les familles les plus vulnérables du pays. En réponse à cette crise, l'UNICEF, aux côtés des autres agences des Nations Unies, fournit une assistance aux personnes vulnérables gravement touchées par la violence, en leur permettant d'accéder aux services de base.   Dans ce contexte, la communication joue un rôle crucial au sein de l'UNICEF. Son objectif est d'informer la communauté nationale et internationale des actions entreprises pour améliorer la vie des enfants et des femmes en Haïti, ainsi que de plaider auprès des décideurs pour la mobilisation des ressources nécessaires. De plus, elle vise à sensibiliser sur l'impact de la crise sur les enfants, afin de susciter une réponse adéquate de la part de la communauté internationale et des autorités nationales.      Comment pouvez-vous faire une différence ?  Tout au long de la période du stage, le/la stagiaire aura à travailler avec la chargée de la communication digitale en réalisant les activités ci-dessous: - Créer de contenus à partager sur les réseaux sociaux. - Organiser de campagnes digitales. - Veiller sur l'image de marque de l'UNICEF et s'assurer de la visibilité des bailleurs de l'UNICEF sur les réseaux sociaux. - Analyser les retombées en ligne des campagnes et des messages. - Veille en ligne sur les réseaux sociaux.   Profil de stage:  Avec la crise actuelle en Haïti, la communication digitale sert de vitrine pour plaider en faveur du respect des droits des enfants et des femmes dans le pays. Sous la supervision directe du responsable de la communication digitale, le/la stagiaire sera a) responsable de la création quotidienne de contenus à partager sur les réseaux sociaux;  b) Il/elle organisera des campagnes digitales sur plusieurs thématiques et veillera à l'image de marque de l'UNICEF auprès de son audience en ligne en répondant aux messages envoyés par celle-ci. By collaborating closely with UNICEF teams, GPEI partners, and government officers, the Digital Communication Specialist will contribute to the development of effective social media engagement, misinformation management, and digital community engagement strategies in line with UNICEF's objectives and the broader goals of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.   Key responsibilities and tasks include the following: 1. Support digital ecosystem, social media, and digital technology platforms: - Assist the Digital Communication Manager in providing technical support to UNICEF Country Offices (COs) for digital engagement interventions, including strategy development, planning, monitoring, and evaluation. - Contribute to the implementation of UNICEF Polio Annual Work Plans in coordination with GPEI partners, ensuring digital and social media components of the Country polio SBC programs meet global excellence standards. - Participate in technical working groups and translate policies and guidelines into operational frameworks for countries to support the development and implementation of global strategic direction, guidelines, and work plans for digital engagement. 2. As the conflict in Ukraine continues and refugees from Ukraine and other countries continue to arrive in Romania, UNHCR External Relations Unit is working to ensure awareness about the refugee response in Romania. The External Relations team produces content – including graphics and audio-visual content for different platforms, including websites, social media, as well as content which is shared with media, donors, and partners for use in reporting on the overall situation.  In Romania, UNHCR maintains Facebook, Twitter (X) and YouTube accounts while exploring the adoption of new digital platforms.  The Social Media Intern at UNHCR Romania will support the office's efforts in advancing the organization's digital presence and engagement strategies. The overall work aims to facilitate increased awareness of Member States of WHO policies and public health issues in general, timely information that is reliable and up-to-date that helps WHO to gain public and Member States' support for achieving WHO's goal of an informed community and a fully aware public about WHO's work.   DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Under the direct supervision of the Chef de Cabinet and overall guidance of the Regional Director, the incumbent will perform the following functions: - Implement the various elements of Regional Communications strategy and coordinate the work of Regional Communications network. - Coordinate the advocacy during the Governing Bodies viz., Regional Committee meeting, World Health Assembly and Executive Board sessions. - Liaise with the Ministries of Health, SEAR Member States, partners and any other stakeholders (including the Member States) - Facilitate strategizing and coordinating the media campaigns, overseeing development of campaign materials, developing social media content. - Facilitate development of content and design for Media and Advocacy related to the Regional Director's Office as well as website management. - Support the preparation of campaign materials in line with the Communication plan for various events and meetings, to be used for both internal and external communication platforms. - Liaise with the Technical units to create communication plans and related products and various WHO events. - Maintain a database of stories, pictures and articles that can serve as a background or contributions for communication activities/ products. - Independently take initiatives to ensure that all communication materials produced for the Regional Director's Office meet the highest standards of quality, by soliciting advice and assistance from sources within and outside the WHO SEARO, as required. - Provide inputs on the design and layouts of such materials. - In consultation with the supervisor, advise the technical teams on communication-related issues. - Any other duty as may be assigned.   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Essential: Master's degree in social sciences, communication and/or journalism from a recognized university.   Experience Essential: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including some experience obtained in an international context, in the field of journalism and development sector communication. Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, the P3 Communication Specialist will contribute to both the management and cultivation of GWAs in support of organization-wide priorities, working closely with all GCA sections, different divisions in headquarters, UNICEF National Committees, and regional and country offices.
